I recently volunteered my time to photograph the golf charity event, The 3rd Annual Daniel Berrios Charity Golf Tournament, at the Miami Shores Country Club in Miami. The 3rd Annual Daniel Berrios Charity Golf Tournament was sponsored by The Law Office of Norman C. Powell and by Round Table Sports Bar. The 3rd Annual Daniel Berrios Charity Golf Tournament was in honor of Daniel Berrios who lost his life to muscular dystrophy.
I’ve never photographed a golf tournament or golf event before so I was a little excited to go out and photograph The 3rd Annual Daniel Berrios Charity Golf Tournament. It was a beautiful day for the tournament and the golf course was equally as amazing as well.
All the participants were very gracious in allowing me to photograph them playing golf. Of course there were a few times a joke was mentioned about deleting a bad shot etc.
Golf is a tricky sport to photograph as the players require silence so they can concentrate. It’s pretty obvious when a camera shutter goes off. Just ask Tiger Woods how he feels about it. For me, that was the main challenge photographing The 3rd Annual Daniel Berrios Charity Golf Tournament. When to press the shutter as to not to disturb the concentration of the golfer.
I was lucky enough to be provided a golf cart by the Miami Shores Country Club so I was able to get to various holes on the course quite easily. I was hiding behind bushes and trees for some of my shots. I felt sort of guilty, like I was a paparazzi stalking a celebrity.
I was ever vigilant for an errant shot as I did not want to get hit nor my gear. Ok I was more concerned about the gear.
A special thanks to the Norman C. Powell from The Law Office of Norman C. Powell for having me out there photographing the tournament.
