Not every NFL game I photograph is going to be an offensive onslaught of touchdowns and highlight reel catches and I get this. But when the Dolphins beat the Jets in a defensive battle, I wasn’t aware that either offense was going to show up. I’m not sure they even showed up to the stadium.
I know I wasn’t the only sports photographer out there begging for some action to photograph. It was painful. Sacks, interceptions, dropped passes. You name it, it happened. Everything except big plays and touchdowns.
Both quarterbacks, Brock Osweiler and rookie Sam Darnold, struggled. An mightily. Dare I even say it was a performance to forget. Highlights were few and far between and with a Dolphins and Jets rivalry, you kind of were hoping for more.
One of the few highlights was seeing Jets legend, Broadway Joe Namath, stroll along the sidelines greeting fans. It was evident by the shrieks and selfies that Jet fans still adore Namath.
