Some couples opt for an extravaganza for a wedding while others, like Timitra and Ed, prefer a more intimate wedding. Their wedding was the perfect intimate wedding as only their closest family and friends were there to experience their special day. And of course I was honored to be there capturing the moments just as I had photographed their engagement session just a few weeks prior to their wedding.
Timitra and Ed couldn’t have picked a better summer day for their wedding. The sun was illuminating the deep blue sky while puffy, white clouds traipsed across the horizon. And seeing how summer here in South Florida usually brings an abundance of afternoon storms, their wedding day was picture perfect.
While the ceremony and reception were to be held at the Hugh Taylor Birch Park in Fort Lauderdale I was to meet up with Timitra at the Double Tree Hotel to photograph her getting ready. When I arrived Timitra was just sitting down to have her makeup applied.
We began talking and I was asking her if she was nervous etc. all the while taking photos of her as her dress hung from the window sill. You could just see the happiness on Timitra’s face as she had her makeup applied. She was all smiles and laughs.
The ceremony itself was brief which left a lot of time for the celebration which suited Timitra and Ed just fine. Thankfully Miami Elite Events, who coordinated the wedding, brought industrial fans and placed them under the tent as the South Florida heat in the summer can be unbearable at times.
The reception was just like the ceremony, very intimate with a lot of dancing, hugs and laughs. It was awesome to see how happy Timitra and Ed were. And in the end that is what it is all about, happiness.
