New Year’s Day Fort Lauderdale Beach Wedding

Do you know what is the best way to start off the new year? It’s photographing Heather and Lin at their Fort Lauderdale beach wedding. It’s kind of romantic starting off the new year by pledging the rest of your lives together to one another and I was honored to be there to take part in such a special occasion.

Heather and Lin’s Fort Lauderdale beach wedding was an intimate affair as it was them, Lin’s two children, their two witnesses and the wedding officiant. It was just perfect the amount of people as it was clear watching Heather and Lin look at each other during the brief ceremony that they were in their own world that day.

Heather selected the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse for their backdrop for the wedding. I’ve never been there before but once I arrived it was this quaint lighthouse on a very quiet beach and I could see why she chose it.

On my way to the location, I encountered torrential downpours and I was nervous that their ceremony would be halted due to the weather, however; once I made it to the beach the rain subsided and the lingering clouds made for a dramatic background.

After the brief, but intimate, ceremony I photographed the beautiful couple who also happen to be expecting a soon to be born baby born on the beach. We were hoping for some sunset dramatics with the sky but Mother Nature wasn’t cooperating.

Best of luck to Heather and Lin and let’s hope the baby comes out to the news that the New England Patriots are once again Super Bowl Champions (Heather is a big Pats fan!)
