Week 2 of the NFL preseason brings me the opportunity to photograph the Miami Dolphins vs the Baltimore Ravens. It was another hot and humid night at the Hard Rock Stadium. Hell, even my camera was sweating as I photographed the action between the two teams.
Unlike last week’s game between the Dolphins and Falcons, the starters on both sides had more playing time. That allowed me to get photos of the Miami Dolphins players who barely played last week. With such large rosters so early in the preseason it’s hard to know all the players and it is easier for me to remember the “core players.”
I had some great opportunities this week to grab some amazing shots. A tiny part of getting great sport images is luck, but a majority of it is placing yourself in the right spot at the right time. Photographing football games can be difficult with large numbers of photographers and videographers on the sideline. I just had to find my windows and lanes to shoot in.
Unfortunately this will be my last Miami Dolphins preseason game as their remaining games are on the road. I look forward to the regular season and photographing more football games.
