The Miami Beach art deco scene is a guilty pleasure I have when I visit the beach. The geometrically shaped building dripping with vibrant colors piques my interest every time. The buildings created back in the 1920’s and 30’s juxtaposed against the modern scenes of today makes Miami Beach what it is. The old sprinkled in with the new.
I’ve been photographing the Miami Beach art deco district for a number of years now. My goal is to amass enough photos to put a book together. Sort of the like paying homage to the art deco architecture that is all over Miami Beach.
From the lifeguard stations on the beach to the hotels lining Collins Ave., Miami Beach is brimming with the art deco style. I’ve been trying to capture it all frame by frame, building by building. As Miami Beach changes with new and modern buildings the old art deco styled buildings still stand their own ground against their new neighbors.
