The first weekend of September can only mean one thing; the return of Miami Hurricanes football to Hard Rock Stadium. For the first game of their season the Miami Hurricanes beat Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 41-13. It wasn’t the prettiest of games, but a win is a win and that is all that matters at the end of the day.
It’s hard to fathom that the end of the college football season arrived as quickly as it did. I was just getting use to my Saturdays being spent on the field photographing games. Lucky for me that my last game of the season I was able to photograph the Miami Hurricanes beat the Duke Blue Devils on Senior Day at Hard Rock Stadium.
After a heartbreaking loss to the Florida State Seminoles a week earlier, it was hard to predict how the game and the game photos from the Hurricanes and the Tar Heels would turn out. Turns out the Hurricanes played like the weather before the game, lousy. Back to back losses are never good for a Miami Hurricanes team and the fans let the team know about it.
Nearly a month had passed since I last photographed a Miami Hurricanes home game. It felt like eternity, but luckily it only felt like eternity. Even though the Miami Hurricanes were coming off two straight road losses, I was hoping for a better showing at home against their ACC Coastal foes, the Virginia Tech Hokies. Miami Hurricanes vs. Virginia Tech Hokies, ACC football at it’s best.
