Clemson Crushed Miami – Game Photos

I know I’m a little late in posting the game photos from the game last week where Clemson crushed Miami. It’s been a crazy week and I’m not even talking about myself. Just a day after the massacre, Miami fired their head coach, Al Golden. I have witnessed some blow outs before but I have never seen a Hurricanes game where Clemson crushed Miami the way they did.

Going into the game I didn’t have a good feeling. I felt that the Miami Hurricanes were going to get beat pretty good by the #6 team in the nation, the Clemson Tigers. MY focus during the pre=game and warmups was photographing Miami’s head coach, or former head coach now, Al Golden. I had a feeling that this game would have been his last and it was.

I’m usually reserved behind the camera, not getting excited after a hit or oohing or aahing, but this game was something else. Clemson was hitting guys so hard, I felt like I was the one getting hit. The brutal sounds of players colliding was something I’ve never heard before. Clemson just absolutely mauled Miami. What made it worse was that Miami’s QB, Brad Kaaya, got hit one too many times and that last time he received a concussion.

When it’s a big game I usually keep an eye out for two Getty photographers, Mike Ehrmann and Tom Dipace. They always have great photos and I watch how they move and the positions they take to get the shot. I’m all for soaking up knowledge and learning new ways of doing things. I also do the same with some of the local guys like Al Diaz and Joel Auerbach. It’s all about getting better with each photograph.

The game itself was over at half time. I believe Clemson put up 40+ points in the first half. Choruses of boos rained down in the now empty stadium from the few remaining fans. Bottles of beer were thrown from the upper deck. Farther than some of the Hurricanes passes mind you. I retreated to the safety of the press box with the Sports Brothers where we watched the 2nd half and I was on Periscope answering questions from fans while providing some in game commentary. There is more to me than just this handsome face you know. hahahahahaha
